A
Body of Knowledge is a
term used to represent the sum total of all knowledge in an area
expertise, most notably professional bodies. A body of knowledge is
usually made up of knowledge areas that represent a taxonomy of relevant
concepts. Most BOKs also reference a significant amount of supporting
literature.
It is also used to describe the repository that
documents that knowledge.
A Body of Knowledge is not a collection of data, a
professional reading list, a library, a website or a collection of
websites, a description of professional functions, or even a collection
of information.

A Guide to the Project
Management Body of Knowledge
(PMBOK) is a project management
guide, and an internationally recognized standard, that provides the
fundamentals of project management as they apply to a wide range of
projects,
including construction,
software,
engineering,
automotive, etc.
The
Business Analysis
Body of Knowledge® (BABOK®)
is the collection of knowledge within the profession of Business
Analysis and reflects current generally accepted practices. As with
other professions, the body of knowledge is defined and enhanced by the
Business Analysis professionals who apply it in their daily work role.
The BABOK® describes
Business Analysis areas of knowledge, their associated activities and
the tasks and skills necessary to be effective in their execution.
